Recently we purchased an
apartment from Kemal of Mavi Real Estate Property Services which we are
absolutely thrilled with.
We originally went to Kalkan on a 3 day inspection weekend after having
had a very enjoyable holiday there several years earlier. We were met
punctually as arranged by Kemal who from the outset was nothing short of
the perfect gentleman. His approach to sales is very casual and
extremely 'low key', which really appealed to both myself and my wife as
neither of us like the usual style of estate agency pressure.
Kemal showed us quite a few varied apartments, some cheaper and some
dearer than the one we ended up buying. It was entirely our choice and
we did not feel under any pressure from Kemal to purchase. Once we had
decided which apartment to buy, Kemal took us painlessly through the
whole buying process, including giving us sound advice on the importance
of writing Turkish Wills, etc. We found his knowledge of Kalkan to be of
great interest and he clearly enjoys living there himself and passing on
his advice to others. He also helped us with the opening of a bank
account and the sorting of utilities, etc.
We would have no hesitation in recommending him.

Buying a property in
Kalkan was an easy decision to make, following 5 years of
holidays to this area, I am only sorry I hadn't done it sooner. Once
the decision to buy had been decided we travelled back to Kalkan in
May armed with a copy of 'Buying a Villa in Turkey' and as Mavi
estates featured highly in this magazine, it was our first port of
call. Kermal was very helpful. We didn't know what we wanted, we
didn't know where we wanted to be and we didn't really know how much
we wanted to spend, so quite a tall order. Un phazed he showed us a
variety of property's in various positions at varying prices, so by
the end of the week, we were not so totally confused, but still no
nearer making a decision. Kemal was quite patient and no pressure was
put on us to make any decision.
One of the properties shown I ruled
out, but then on my second visit this year I was re-shown the
property and looking at it again realised its potential. Kermals hand
holding came into play, he was able to assist in the negotiations with
the sellers, arrange and take us to the solicitors, and advise us of
the procedures and our obligations. He is there to answer questions.
The whole process has been fairly easy, one or two panics when our
bank didn't transfer the funds as instructed, but nothing that
couldn't be put right with a few friendly faxes. Having just
returned from the 3rd visit this year, we are near completion and with
the furniture now coming into the villa and with our personal tastes,
it will transform this villa into our villa

We have recently purchased a property in
Turkey and would like to say how easy the process was made by Kemal
and all his colleagues at MAVI Estates. The way we were looked after
was first class. Nothing was too much trouble for them and it made the
purchase so much easier. We have been back several times since we have
bought our apartment and Kemal and the team still help us out. Now
that's what I call after sales service.

Hi,
Martin here, I am writing to thank you yet again for all your help in
making our transition into becoming the proud owners of our Turkish
villa so easy!
One of my customers had asked me to put into figures on a percentage
scale, how happy we had been with the service which we had received from
our Turkish agent, although we have had the inevitable minor concerns, I
was more than happy to say I was 100% happy!
The problems we have encountered, I
believe have been due to us not being fully conversant with the Turkish
methods of business and law, but that is where your field of expertize
came into play, and obviously, where the wisdom of Turkish law, in
allowing the agent to act with power of attorney on behalf of the
client. I would have absolutely no qualms
in recommending to anyone thinking of investing in Turkish property to
give power of attorney to an estate agent, (their major concern being to
find an agent with integrity) this then makes the
whole process very "do-able".
All in all I have to say a VERY BIG THANK YOU, for everything.
AND on a purely personal note, my sincere thanks for your assistance at
the scene and at the Gendarmerie, following my road accident, without
your help I am sure it would have been a much scarier experience! THANK
YOU!

Hi,
... We enjoyed our visit so much we didn't
want to come home!!! Kalkan already feels like our new home, and we
can't wait to come out again, it was our pleasure to have the meal with
you and Patti, and we look forward to being able to do it again soon,
hopefully as good friends rather than as a client/agent thing, (not that
it felt like that anyway) It is nice to feel that we can feel so
comfortable in the company of friends in our adopted new environment,
people who we can have good conversation with, and who can steer us in
all the right directions, socially, culturally and economically, we have
such desire to integrate with our surroundings, and not necessarilly do
the ex-pat thing! It seems to have been incredibly easy to feel accepted
by all we met, if you remember I once said to you " if something seems
too good to be true, it usually is", to which you replied "yes but you
are talking England and this is Turkey" well I now realise that
you were right, I sadly have learnt to be very cynical and it will be
extemely good to banish such cynicism and settle into a gentler,more
trusting existance...

wanted to say thank you to
Ugur for taking care of us
when in Kalkan last week and
hope you got the text that
explained we had left the
Elite Apartment key back
under the fire extinguisher
where it was when we
arrived.
The
Patio Homes apartment looks
wonderful and the views are
even better than we hoped!
We thought our memories were
good but each room and
balcony seemed larger than
we remember and the setting
even more beautiful which
was amazing as we had such
positive memories to start
with!
We are
already very excited about
our trip in May. We have
booked our next flights and
will arrive in Kalkan in the
very early hours of Tuesday
11th May (approximately 3am)
and leave in the early hours
of Saturday 22nd May. We
felt that this would give us
time to make all
arrangements required to
complete the purchase (such
as visiting the bank and
Notary Office again) as soon
as possible on weekdays when
the required offices are
most likely to be open. We
hope that even though the
purchase will not be fully
complete on our arrival,
that we will still be OK to
stay in the new apartment
for all of our holiday,
would this be OK with you?
It will be wonderful to
enjoy our first holiday in
our own apartment and have
time to "make it our own".

we will be able to call upon
you again to guide us
through the next phase of

such as how to arrange
earthquake insurance, normal

distance? We have Ikea in
the UK but it seems the
nearest one to Kalkan is
Izmir, approximately 450km
away. Are there any similar
type stores any closer?
Whilst we know that the
furniture is included, we
will still need various
household items both
practical and to
"personalise" the apartment.
